Our Story...

Her Story

Watching all these weddings taking place in 2013 has been truly cathartic.  Despite Bakersfield's conservative image, same-gender couples are being married, and more importantly, being legally recognized both statewide and locally.  We have said for more than ten years, "love wins," and surely it has.  I am proud, as the former chair of Bakersfield LGBTQ and just as a citizen of Bakersfield, to see my hometown embracing this wonderful change.

Her Story

I have been an ordained minister since July 4, 2004.
My wife and I have been married since June 17, 2008.  We organized the weddings that took place on that day in Kern County with some help from friends and Bakersfield LGBTQ.
It was a fabulous day, with lights, cameras, action, brides, grooms and lots of LOVE.   By far one of the most special days of our lives.

On July 1, 2013 I donated my services to couples that wanted to get married in Kern County.  I happily and with honor married six couples and enjoyed every minute of it.

Since then I have married many more.
Some of their pictures appear on this website.  Every wedding, every bride and every groom is a delightful honor to me.  I know how special our wedding was and I want each couple I marry to feel as incredible as we did.
